Congratulations to Nikki Fox on being named one of Hotel Management’s Most Influential Women in Hospitality

Nikki Fox has been a great addition to our GLR team and we can’t be more pleased that Hotel Management has recognized her accomplishments in the hospitality industry and named her as one of the Most Influential Women in Hospitality.

Excerpt taken from Hotel Management October 2022:

Construction traditionally has been a male-dominated arena, but Nikki Fox has spent 13 years working to expand the industry’s horizons and make it more welcoming to women. “I come from a long line of construction workers and in 2009 I chose to take the opportunity to mix my operations/business background and my family history and work in the environment of hospitality construction,” she said. “Working in construction in the day-to-day of an operational hotel is my joy. Fast-paced, creating beautiful safe spaces, all while keeping guests happy are the smiles that keep me coming back for more.” Fox said she faced challenges even before officially joining the industry. “I grew up in a time where I was told girls should not be on constructions sites. That type of statement was not told to limit me [but] told out of love and to keep me safe,” she said. “I stay in the industry to continue to make that type of thinking and those type of actions almost unrecognizable.” She does this through her own actions and by helping others. “Throughout my life, I love to seek challenges so I can grow and educate myself. I have had the good fortune to have amazing mentors and find inspiration in the opportunities to mentor others. A key goal in life is to make a positive difference. This can be as little as making a guest smile or as large as saving a client millions of dollars.” Her advice to other women interested in the construction industry: “Work harder, don’t make excuses, find a mentor, be a mentor, network. There is no time for pity parties. Women need to stick together. Build up other women. Other women are not your enemy. Find solutions! There is always a solution if it is search for well enough.”
